Spartan Warrior - Scrimshaw

Scrimshaw, the decoration of bone or ivory objects, such as whale's teeth or walrus tusks, with fanciful designs.

The designs, executed by whale fishermen of American and Anglo-American origin, were carved with either a jackknife or a sail needle and then emphasized with black pigments, commonly lampblack.

This is my first try at some scrimshaw done on elephant ivory (ethically sourced). This is the same spartan woman image as the charcoal drawing I did. It is an art that I would like to incorporate on my knives in future projects.
